SF Bike Trail City Loop

It was a great afternoon for some two-wheel therapy! First leg involved a 20 mile bike ride loop through the city that included the trails on the north end that were just repaved and reopened. The second leg involved a 60 mile cycle ride on the Raider around the perimeter of the city. The weather was incredible so there was a Wizard of Oz moment wondering if I was really in Sioux Falls. The winds were less than 10 mph out of the NNE with an afternoon high in the low 80s and skies were mostly sunny. Wow, sounds like the lyrics to a folk song! LOL!

The Sioux Falls airport runway is being refurbished so there is considerable construction equipment and debris on the runway at the moment. While I am sure pilots have received ample warning about the closure, I couldn't help noticing the flashing X at the end of the runway just in case.

Prairie Rides

I call it two-wheel therapy. Out on the bike or bicycle taking in the outdoors. To increase some interest in our rides we often load the bikes and travel briefly to a location so we can head into any wind. That way we are rewarded with a easier return ride.

During my afternoon outing I parked the Yamaha Raider to take a photo. Grew up in a community that bottled Pepsi and this icon really stands out from the freeway.

St. Paul Walking Tours

It has been a number of years since I visited Como Park Conservatory and returning this past week I was not disappointed. My compliments to all that have contributed to the rejuvenation of the walking paths and gardens. The following photos were taken with my iPhone.

Sioux Falls Sculpture Walk June 2012

The following photo was taken during the afternoon in downtown Sioux Falls while taking in the 2012 version of the Sculpture Walk. This is entitled Lighter Than Some by Gregory Mendez along with the Sioux Falls clock.
